Erica Fernandez
Erica's expertise in dog training is matched by her entrepreneurial spirit. She has spent the past 10 years working with dogs professionally. And has spent the better portion of her life dedicated to rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need. Erica is a graduate of Starmark Academy School for Professional dog trainers and worked as both a lead trainer for the behavior center and as an instructor for the school.
Erica’s love and passion for dogs started at a young age. As a child Erica was quickly and heavily enthralled in the world of animal advocacy, rescue, and rehabilitation. As a teenager, she participated in several internships with local dog training facilities and began her independent education through firsthand experience and studies. She officially started her small business when she was 16 years old and won awards and community nominations for her services and dedication to the community rescue efforts in Spring Tx. As her career continued to develop, she sought out a formal education and graduated from Starmark Academy School for Professional Dog Trainers as a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. Upon program completion Erica went on to develop training programs and departments for other companies and earned her K9 CPR and first aid certification. She later returned to Starmark for a position as a trainer with the Behavior Center where she also became an AKC Evaluator. During her time in the training department, Erica discovered her passion for working with Behavior Modification cases. Her expertise in B-Mod accredited her with many remarkable success stories and armed her with a niche ability to work with not only troubled dogs but their passionate owners who refused to give up on their pets. After eventually achieving the title of lead trainer of the training department Erica was offered a teaching position with the same academy that she herself graduated from. She successfully graduated multiple classes of dog trainers through the program and took immense pride in the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the education and development of a new generation of dog trainers exciting new careers.
It is now at this new chapter of her ever growing passion and love for working with dogs that she looks forward to all the many wonderful things to come through Equilibrium Canine Academy.

Tyler Jordan
Lifelong best friend and partner to Erica, Tyler plays a vital role in the shared dream they have of spending their lives together, raising and training dogs in the best possible environment. Tyler is a kind-hearted individual whose unwavering support and strength embody the ideal blend of commitment and encouragement, both in life and dog training. He exemplifies dedication to routine and a crucial level of care for the animals at home, actively assisting Erica in the training process. You can often find Tyler engaged in training exercises during board and train programs, as well as in lessons with clients, where he handles demo dogs and serves as a designated greeter or distraction.
Tyler's personal journey with dogs primarily began with alongside Erica. With the recent adoption of his first personal dog in 2023, affectionately named ‘Squid,’ a mostly black pittie-lab mix and up incoming demo dog. Tyler is committed to training Squid himself, guided by Erica, as he seeks to fully embrace the enriching experience of dog ownership. Living with a dog trainer has certainly accelerated Tyler's understanding of canine behavior and psychology. However, he mostly remains the generous provider of delicious treats, asking little in return, which is why the dogs always show him such deep affection and appreciation.

As Tyler and Squid progressed to more advanced training levels, Erica is now guiding Squid's development further.Currently, Squid is focused on his new objective: becoming a valued member of the family business.
